David & Goliath

The story of David and Goliath is found in First Samuel 17:1–50.

The Israelites and Philistines are at war when Goliath, a giant Philistine warrior, challenges Israel to send a champion to fight him in single combat. While King Saul and the Israelite army are paralyzed by fear, David, a young shepherd delivering supplies to his brothers, steps forward in faith. Refusing the king’s armor and relying instead on God’s protection, David confronts Goliath with only a sling and five smooth stones.

Declaring, “The battle is the LORD’s” (1 Samuel 17:47), David defeats the giant with a single stone and secures victory for Israel. The story illustrates how God can use an ordinary person to accomplish an impossible task when they trust in God's power rather than their own strength, resources, or experience
